How to Fill RTO Form 30

  • Whether covered by finance/lease/hypothecation agreement or not



After filling these details, the transferor has to declare that he/she has sold the vehicle to the transferee on a specified date and that he/she has no objection to the transfer of ownership. The transferor also has to declare that he/she has delivered all the relevant documents, such as registration certificate, insurance certificate, pollution under control certificate, tax token, etc., to the transferee. The transferor has to sign this declaration and mention his/her name, address, and date.


Part II: For the use of the transferee




This part requires the following details of the transferee and the vehicle:


  • Name and address of the transferee



  • Registration number and class of the vehicle

Part III: For the use of the financier (if applicable)




This part requires the following details of the financier and the agreement:


  • Name and address of the financier



  • Date and particulars of execution of finance/lease/hypothecation agreement



  • Amount advanced or secured under finance/lease/hypothecation agreement



  • Period for which finance/lease/hypothecation agreement is valid



  • Date on which full payment is due under finance/lease/hypothecation agreement



After filling these details, the financier has to give his/her consent to the transfer of ownership of the vehicle from the transferor to the transferee, subject to the condition that the transferee will continue to pay the instalments due under the agreement to the financier. The financier has to sign this consent and mention his/her name, address, and date.


Part IV: For the use of the registering authority




This part is for the endorsement of the transfer of ownership by the registering authority. The registering authority will verify the details and documents submitted by the transferor and the transferee, and will record the change of ownership in its records. The registering authority will also issue a new registration certificate to the transferee, with the name of the financier (if applicable) endorsed on it. The registering authority will sign this endorsement and mention its name, address, and date.


How to Submit RTO Form 30




After filling RTO Form 30, you need to submit it to the concerned RTO office along with some other documents. Here is a list of documents required along with RTO Form 30:


  • Original registration certificate of the vehicle



  • Copy of valid insurance certificate of the vehicle



  • Copy of valid pollution under control certificate of the vehicle



  • Copy of address proof of the transferee



  • Copy of PAN card or Form 60/61 of the transferee



  • Copy of Aadhaar card or any other identity proof of the transferee



  • No objection certificate from the financier (if applicable)



  • No objection certificate from the original registering authority (if applicable)



  • Passport size photographs of the transferor and the transferee



You also need to pay a fee and a tax for transferring ownership of a vehicle using RTO Form 30. The fee varies depending on the type and class of the vehicle, but it is usually around Rs. 200-300.
